4 year old perspective

Dash and I were at the library and we ended up taking a bunch of pictures of him outside (to be posted later... sometime) when he announced that he wanted to take a picture of the brick wall. Not something on the wall, not me by the wall, just the wall.
Okay, buddy.

I see plain old bricks.
I wonder, what did he see
that this adult can't?

stuff for you

Have you ever said to yourself, Self, i could use some high quality ribbon in various sizes, patterns, colors and textures; if it was already cut into 1 yard lengths, so much the better?
GOOD NEWS
Tomorrow is my community yard sale. Not only will there be hundreds of ribbons priced at 3 yards for $1, i have modern beads, vintage beads, crystals, jewelry findings, fiber, fabric, scrapbooking paper, pearl and rhinestone embellishments, die cuts, tags, stickers, rub-ons, rubber stamps and more all priced to not go back into the studio.
I will also have some regular yard sale items (housewares, toys, jewelry, stuffed animals, etc), including some furniture and an exercise bike.

Happy Easter!

Rejoice, my friends, rejoice!
Eternal salvation AND Cadbury creme eggs?
Best holiday ever!
Happy Easter to my Christian friends; everyone else, enjoy the spring weather (finally) and jellybeans (except the black ones; those are just plain gross).

mental morsel #4

Whenever i see a U-Haul truck i am excited to both read the geography specific tidbit on the side and see if it is about my state.
Today my mind was BLOWN by the tidbit not only being about Maryland (Delmarva Peninsula specifically, but close enough), but being something i had never, ever heard before.
The largest impact crater in the United States is under the Chesapeake Bay. (wiki)
What-what-what?
So i love Maryland, love trivia, spent 18 years driving around Delmarva exploring and have a degree in marine science, but have never heard this?
Thank you, U-Haul. You made my day.
I hope your mind is sufficiently blown now, too.

besties since the beginning

I know i am given to hyperbole, but when i say that my BFF and i have known each other our whole lives:
Nicole and Rickki Marie - July 1971
I enjoy the look of complete confusion on my face and that Rea is obviously looking at some adult who is probably saying Sit right there. Don't move. Don't lean on the baby.
Also, i think it is hilarious that she was born brunette and i was born blonde since that is opposite of how we ended up. In case you are wondering, yes, she always been a full head taller than me. No matter what age, in pictures i come up to her shoulder or chin. We have grown at exactly the same rate our whole lives.
For 25 years i have been searching for the earliest picture of us together.
The best i could find was when we were toddlers, but i found it hard to believe knowing our family that no one took a picture of us meeting.
I don't know where she found this or why it suddenly appeared, but this picture of us at 2 and 5 months, respectively, showed up in my email three days ago fulfilling my quest and making me smile for hours.
