Take Ten
Last night i went to dinner with Betsy and Lynn, closed down Borders, went to the gym and got home around midnight. Waiting for me at home was the summer edition of Stampers Sampler : Take Ten magazine.
It is a quarterly publication of fast and easy greeting cards created by rubber stamping which only take ten minutes to create (hence the name). I like this publication, but don't have a subscription. On the address label it said "artist comp copy."
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I sent 3 general call submissions on December 30th of last year to finish off the New Year's Resolution "submit artwork for publication." These were fast cards that i whipped out simply to be able to check it off of my list. I paged through quickly and there it was on page 79 - my first published work! Yippee!
So today, at lunch, i was actually reading the magazine (having finally exhausted myself of simply gazing at it and fondling it lovingly) when i turned to page 118 and thought, that design looks familiar; wait... is that... YES, there was another one of my cards. (some of you would recognize some of the elements from a former New Year's card) That's 2 out of 3!
Excited hardly describes it.
BTW, this was my view at lunch.
We watched an osprey dive for lunch at the edge of the lily pads. Kinda LOVING MY LIFE today.

Congratulations! That's very cool.
Congratulations - I've always known how awesomely talented you are, glad they figured it out too. And you're really making a dent in those New Years resolutions!

Scan & Post! Scan & Post!!!
Way to go, Nickles!! Congrats.
If i can find access to a scanner -even i can't justify using the one at work- i will post them.
Ca we buy that at like Michaels or something like that?
You can get Take Ten at Borders, some Barnes and Nobles, some craft stores (i can never remember who carries what) and rubber stamping stores.
