tree trail
One of my favorite things at the Edison/ Ford Lights was the Children's Tree Trail. From a distance all you could see were a hundred trees lining the walk from Ford's house to the water.
Once we got close we could see that each tree was decorated differently and figured out that they were from all of the schools in the county. Some were beautiful, some were charming, some were thematic, some were a little sad. There were some "what is that?" ornaments that had been made by the kids

while other trees had amazing things made of ordinary materials, like the aluminum foil angel tree-topper :
My favorite was the probability tree with dice garland made of foam - good execution of a cute idea :
